I use to call myself the “What If girl” because I would worry about everything. Finally I came to a point in my life I just stop trying to fight the facts of life. We’ve all been through that phase where we question everything about life, like Why are we here? What happens after I die? Why is there pain and suffering here? Why does life have to be the way that it is?

You do not have to accept what we as human being have done to our society, but once you accept the universe for who she is you will find that your life is a lot more peaceful. I use to afraid to leave my house in the morning and go our for a run by myself. Then I figured if I am careful as in pay attention to my surrounding, every now and then have a running partner, and enjoy myself. I found that I worried a lot less because I was able to ease my own worries by acknowledging them.

Now the owner of a cute little dog named : and a cat I call mimi, believe it or not I was once afraid of dogs. Terrified of dogs people who knew me and found out about my new friends were astonished at my change in life. I would call up friends ahead of time before a visit to have them lock up their pets where they needed to I did not care. Well, guess who started hanging around more and more dogs! Yes I was willing to leave my comfort zone and try something new.

Something as small as having the television on as I went to bed was an addiction for me, but I would become so distracted at night that I would fall asleep so late. It wasn’t much a fear as it was an addiction, so I thought! When I finally decided to remove my television from my bedroom I was left to listen to my thoughts at night and they haunted me. I was on the brink of giving up the overthinking I was going through was a difficult experience for my its amazing how much your own mind can play games on you. I did it and I am proud of myself for it.

Facing your fears is a matter of acknowledging them, facing them, and just going through with it. I never said it was easy, but I am saying that it is possible!

Its amazing how being a business major has so much to do with my faith in God. Business is such a fickle subject because it depends on so many things you cannot control. As many number as an accountant can crunch into a word file he can’t explain what the people will decide to accept and won’t hence why we constantly fail, but as entrepreneurs we try and try again until our idea finds it’s moment.

  1. When you treat people right in customer service you get back more than you bargain for. Jesus’s overall teachings were to love one another unconditionally even past negativity, and I’ve been in customer service for years and I realized the nicer I am to people the more they want to buy from me and work with me, but I’m not just nice I’m genuine and honest, and in a world where everyone feels like someone is trying to get one over on them, its a good benefit. Authenticity is rare and when you come across it, its like a treasure.

2. You can’t control everything no matter how much hard work you put into your service or product you might feel like its going no where but guess what just like in christianity your are not in control. Your power is in your actions the universe does not ask that you take on the challenges of the world it only ask that you do your part and slowly but surely things will come together.

3. Speaking of slowly, Patience is an ultimate virtue, with out patience you will quit whatever it is you are trying to do and you will fail. Don’t rush into anything because it deprives you of growth and development. Take your time and don’t let this fast paced world make you feel like you have to keep up with its standards.

I’m a walking contradiction and that bothered me for so long because I was concerned that other people would see me as a mess. Frankly, I do think a lot of the times other people see me as a mess, but one thing about life is that tomorrow isn’t promised and the more we spend on the hypothetical and unknown the more time we waste.

Life is meant to be experienced and its important to stop trying to control every situation so that we come out on top. Sit back and enjoy the ride crazy or fun take life as it comes, one day at a time. Worrying about how you look in front of others only stops you from being great.

I know being embarrassed is such a shameful feeling because it brings up insecurities we try so hard to bury. The things we are sensitive about are best not left buried in the back of your mind, acknowledge them that way its easy to deal with them.

I started doing beauty youtube videos and I was so terrified at first, I spoke to my mother about it worried that I would be made fun of. I’m not the prettiest girl in the world and I wasn’t a huge fan of my nose at the time, her words were “So what! you already know you have a small nose, so what if someone points it out.” I thought, I am already aware of my insecurities so if someone points it out the most I can do is agree.

When you worry less about being embarrassed you put in your all you don’t worry about what someone is going to say or perceive you as. Most of the time no one has anything to say and it was your own conjured up fears haunting you.

Don’t tip toe around life jump in and enjoy it.

I am the cheesiest corniest person I’ve ever met.  I grew up on Barney and all the rules he laid out for all the kids on the playground. live by the golden rule; treat others the way you want to be treated. At first glance a lot of people like my personality and it also takes some people to warm up as it can come off as being fake.

Since I can remember I have always been told not to change the person that I am, but for the longest I’ve wanted to change who I am! I was tired of being so predictable. It took me some time to finally realize that we are all born into a circumstance and for some reason a lot of us make the mistake of trying to change our envoirment in order to reach a change in ourselves.

I’ve come to realize that its our mind that must do the changing. If we can change the way we think we can change who we are and the people we choose to keep around us. It all happens as a domino effect and this is how you learn to become confident in who you are and in time love who you are. Remember that it all starts with your mindset decide what you want to do and it will happen for you.

I always hear that its important to work hard, but it wasn’t until I was put into a position where I had to work hard that I started to think how? What exactly do I have to do to work hard especially when your efforts feel like they are not enough. Well, here are some indicators for you to help you feel like your efforts are noted.

If you are leaving your comfort zone on a regular basis then you are working hard. When you are putting yourself in uncomfortable potions you are testing your personal limit of what you can emotionally handle. It also shows that you are exhausting all your options and are trying your hardest simply because you are doing the things that are difficult for you to do.

Discipline is when you force yourself to do the things you don’t want to do, but because you are so dedicated you do it anyway. Discipline means you are working hard, and you aren’t just doing the bare minimum you are going over and beyond what you need to do. You are pushing through resistance the excuses that pop up in your mind have no effect on you.

If you are being consistent you are working hard this means you are fully committed to what you are doing and you don’t want to stop. I think of the story of the tortoise and the hare it wasn’t the faster animal that won the race it was the animal that was consistent and did not give up. If you are doing the above things in your entrepreneurship journey you are doing things right just be patient and everything will come together.

Call it being stubborn, but when you have a dream to create something with purpose and not just aim to make money. Its difficult to water down or compromise the integrity of your idea. I was recently contacted by my best friend, she was so excited about  a free business event she found on social media she signed herself up and me as well. It was exciting to think that we’d be in front of a very successful business man and having him inspire us with advice.

Well, if its too good to be true then it is, I showed up thirty minutes late to the business event and as soon as I sat down I realized this was a waste of time. After the stress of paying for parking 3 times in the wrong place my GPS lead me to, I was holding on to the hope that this business event would be worthwhile. Sadly it was worth it for about 4 out of 40 people in that room.

The meeting was a set up to prey on people who wanted to be rich not entrepreneurs. It was a deal to use a famous persons name and connections in the industry to help build  a brand or create an idea for you, for $5000. Since we were at that meeting it would cost about $2,000 and we would be able to bring a plus one for free. It was like watching an informercial, I wouldn’t say it was a scam, but the event was advertised in a misleading way.

I think its important as an entrepreneur to realize that your hard work and persistence is the only thing that will help you build what it is that you want to create. There are people who will prey on you because they know you have “a dollar and a dream” and get you to feel like they will help you when they don’t. Its important to stay focused on your success and be patient. As an entrepreneur your ultimate goal is to create magic, take an idea that is in your mind and have it come to life. Its a journey to be appreciated, although there might be a lot of ways to get rich quick there is only one way to take your idea and bring it to life and that is through faith and persistence.

cube-six-gambling-play-37524Today is the day I take full control of my life, my actions, and my destiny. We are all born with a voice inside that wants to lead us to our full potential but just like happiness it is something you have to create for yourself and by yourself. As you can see self-awareness is truly important when fate is a factor, but when do you know you are ready to take that leap of faith and just follower your destiny.

When you realize that you are in control. Its always easy to blame our parents, teachers, friends, and so many other people for why our life isn’t the way we want it to be. “My parents didn’t teach me how to manage money so I have none. ‘My friends always want to go out so I can never save money.” There are so many excuse we can come up with, as to why we can’t do something or have something. Have you ever stopped to think that you are in control of your life and what ever you want you can have. Its that simple if you want a million dollars you can go out and and get a million dollars but you need to have the discipline and hard work associated in achieving that goal. When you realize that no one other than you is in control of your own work ethic you are almost ready to risk it all.

When you feel fear but ignore it. Talk about risk taking, having a sense of fear is our bodies way of telling us to beware of the unknown and that we are about to go against our natural survival instincts. If you aren’t use to taking any risk your mind will convince you that EVERYTHING is scary! Take it from me I am the biggest “scaredy cat” in the world. I would convince myself that everything was dangerous, until I realized that I only had one life to live and I couldn’t live up to my fullest potential if I was always scared. Challenge yourself by taking more calculating risk for example if the worst that can happen is you getting your feelings hurt you really don’t have much to lose but some of your ego which I promise, you can gain back.

When your willing to sacrifice. The definition of sacrifice is when you are willing to give up, lose, or destroy something you hold in high regards that is precious to you for the sake of something else, in this case, you are passionate about. When you are willing to give up sleep, money, your job, or junk food for something you want you have just proved how committed you are to your quest and makes you a lot closer to your destination. The sense commitment that sacrifice brings about is great step because you have created purpose for yourself and purpose is the most important part of motivation in any field that will help you do things you never thought you could do. Like waking up early in the morning to get work done or getting over you anxiety to take to people you wouldn’t think twice about. When you are willing to sacrifice for what you want you have opened up a path of opportunity for yourself.

I say always follow your heart and do what makes you feel right, but what happens when you feel stuck in a rut. Sometimes it feels like you are ready to conform to something that makes you feel uneasy all because you are comparing yourself to everyone around you. See I understood you even before we ended this post, I already knew what was on your mind. Stop comparing yourself to other people around you because (1) you do not know their story or struggle (2) You are not them everyone is unique and has their own style of doing things.

Your only goal in life is to be the best version of YOU! When you compare you to yourself its attainable and measurable. Imagine trying to lose weight and constantly comparing yourself to someone else’s weight loss journey. You will definitely be discouraged because you will not have the same weight loss diet, exercise plan, or goal! if you take progress pictures of yourself, monitor your own weight, and try on your own clothes to see how much weight you’ve lost. Those are all great indicators of YOUR progress, although it sounds selfish you should be your main focus.

IMG_0019The Wait is a book written by my favorite actress Megan Good and her husband Pastor Devon Franklin. It’s about the vow the couple took to experience sex with each other after marriage. The book recalls their introduction to each other the obstacles they had to overcome individually and as a unit aa well as how they ended up married.

I love their book THE WAIT, and highly recommend it, not just for someone who is deciding wheter or not to be celibate before marriage, but because Its a timeless and universal story about patiences. I believe patiences is an important trait to learn to control, after being a banker for two years of my life I will not allow myself to complain about time and having to patient with it.

I believe time is yours you are in control of it and you decide how you spend it, we all try and manage our money but what about time management its an essential part of life. Realize that life happens that you might plan on going to the store to pick up milk to then realize that a car accident has occurred and now a five minute errand has now elongated itself to an hour. The time you put into getting what you want is worthwhile because you know how much energy you used in order to meet your goal. The patience you put into delaying something now for a bigger reward later is a feeling no one can take from you.

Now if there is a goal that your are trying to reach and you know its going to take time and perseverance this book a great read to help keep you motivated and in the way to your dreams and aspirations.
