Being a Freelance Makeup Artist MUA

I created the blog Divine Maintenance because I wanted an outlet to write all my feelings down, about the growing process of becoming a Momtreprenuer. No I don’t have a husband or kids yet, but I believe in the law of attraction, speaking the things we want out of life into existence and everyday doing something positive to help you move towards that goal. I am currently a Makeup Artist doing makeup in a boutique as well as freelance. Freelance work is just like having your own business but instead of representing a brand you are your own brand and are representing yourself.

I go through a lot business wise trying to get people to take what I do seriously because of the social media makeup fads its such a popular idea. So many people aspire to be makeup artist so I feel like the word lacks some sustains in the eyes of the general public. The only thing is I’ve been doing this since I was 15 years old now 24, I’ve been in the game for sometime but just practicing my craft never really taking on clientele because of so many different fears I wouldn’t know where to start.

Everyone I talk to says the market is so saturated and that the makeup industry is so overdone at this point. I like to think about dentist because there are at least 7 dentist office on the main road that I live off of, and if those dentist thought like that they would never have gone through with their career. Every market is saturated there are over 7 billion people on this planet! So of course there will be some competition but it shouldn’t stop anyone from doing what they love. Things that can set you apart could be your location, your price, or your service.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people complain about their hair salon because of horrible customer service, those unhappy customers can become your customers.

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
